2013 International Award for Public Art

The 2013 International Award for Public Art was awarded on 12th April 2013 at a ceremony at the Fine Arts College of Shanghai University, China.

A total of 141 public art projects from around the world were recommended and researched by 15 researchers. The projects were selected for the centrailty of the artists role, for their effectiveness in place-making, for their professionalism, their innovative design and the quality of their technical construction.

The jury was composed of experts in contemporary public art who made an in-depth study and commented on the projects nominated. From all the case studies, six outstanding projects from six continents were chosen; from which the final selection was made to award The 2013 IAPA to Tiuna el Fuerte Cultural Park project in Caracas, Venezuela.
