"The Magician of the Earth-Chongqing's First Rural Aesthetic Education·Art Research Activity" is an aesthetic education activity conducted in Dongsheng Village, Liuyin Town, Beibei District, Chongqing, China. Beibei District of Chongqing City used to be the center of a century-old township construction in China during the Republic of China. The rich and well-preserved rural ecological texture is an important highland for exploring China's nationality and national character. The site was chosen as a typical place in response to the emergence of the topic of China’s poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. This action is a new reflection on the overall relationship between urban and rural areas.
Thinking about China's rural construction on the basis of the integration of urban and rural areas, and thinking about how art, as a kind of cultural productivity, participates in rural development. Led by Associate Professor Zeng Lingxiang, he leads the rural revitalization and folk art revitalization studio and the public art graduate community in local art practice and on-site aesthetic education. The team conducted preliminary analysis through field surveys, field observations, questionnaires, creative experiments, etc. in Dongsheng Village, and finally decided to find the commonality between "art" and magic, "artist" by means of curriculum development, artistic action and social aesthetic education. The artist created a special "Water Canal Art Festival" in Liuyin Town, Beibei District, Chongqing City, with social intervention, relationship aesthetics, and dialogue aesthetics as the planning concepts after preliminary visits to more than 20 canal people in 3 villages and collection of historical materials.
