Meeting Objectives

The 2016 IPA Research Network Meeting is co-organised by the Fine Art College, Shanghai University and the Institute for Public Art (IPA).

The goals of the IPA are: to promote public art research; to build an international communication platform, and to establish and nourish a research network for international public art experts.

The aims of the meeting are: to explore public art research methods and the possible direction of public art in the future; to optimise cooperation and research methods; to encourage uniformity across evaluative methods and in technical language; to promote and efficient research platform; and to build a first-class research and exchange network for international public art.

At the same time, we wish to expand the influence of ‘International Award for Public Art’ activities, to strengthen international exchange, to achieve pluralism and coexistence, and to promote the development of international public art.
